How Over-Texting Kills the Mystery Before It Begins

Technology has made it possible to communicate with someone from the moment you wake up until the moment you go to sleep.

That does not necessarily mean you should. In the early stages of dating, constant texting can create a false sense of closeness before two people have had enough real experiences together to build genuine intimacy.

You may know what they ate for breakfast, what happened during their meeting, and what show they watched before bed—but still know very little about how they behave in a relationship.

At Sacred Amour, we believe communication should help a connection grow rather than replace actually spending time together.

Texting can be wonderful for maintaining interest, planning dates, checking in, and sharing small moments. But when every detail is exchanged through a screen, there is little left to discover when you meet in person.

Allow some space. Let yourself wonder about someone. Save some stories for dinner. Give each other an opportunity to live your individual lives and then come back together with something meaningful to share.

The beginning of a relationship should contain curiosity. You do not have to manufacture games or intentionally ignore someone to create mystery.

Sometimes you simply need to stop trying to experience the entire relationship through your phone.
