Why Waiting for Someone to Change Rarely Works

People can change. They can mature, heal, develop new habits, and become better partners. But meaningful change has to be something a person chooses for themselves.

You cannot love someone into becoming ready for commitment. You cannot repeatedly explain your needs until someone suddenly develops emotional availability. And you cannot build a relationship around the expectation that another person will eventually become who you need them to be.

At Sacred Amour, we believe compatibility should be evaluated based on the person standing in front of you today.
That does not mean expecting perfection. Everyone has areas where they can grow. Healthy couples grow together throughout their relationship.

The problem begins when the future of the relationship depends entirely upon one person changing something fundamental.

If you repeatedly find yourself saying, Everything would be perfect if they would just…, pay attention to what comes next.

Are you describing a reasonable adjustment within a healthy partnership, or are you describing a completely different version of your partner?

Love can support someone’s growth, but it cannot manufacture it. Choose someone whose current values, character, and intentions align with yours—and allow future growth to become an addition to the relationship rather than a requirement for its survival.
